The Average Golf Open is a golf tournament built for everyday golfers - not the pros, not the players on TV, but the 99% of us whose game can look brilliant one hole and absolutely trash on the next…. If you’ve ever blamed your round on your clubs, this is for you.
Created by Reece Walsh, the AGO will be played across 12 regional tournaments throughout Queensland and New South Wales, where two-person Ambrose teams compete for a place in the State Finals and ultimately the National Championship (QLD vs NSW), with the winning team earning a once-in-a-lifetime, all-expenses-paid golf trip to Las Vegas, USA.
Just like the pros, we want our average golfers on TV screens for the world to see too.
Every golf day is filmed and turned into its own episode on Reece Walsh’s YouTube channel - showcasing the players involved, the “I could turn pro” type shots, the pressure moments, the trash talking, the melt downs and the overall carnage and chaos that makes amateur golf so entertaining.
It’s giving average Joe his five mins of fame.

KEY RULES
All players competing in the Average Golf Open must be 18 years or older.

To be eligible for prizes and progression, players must hold a valid GOLF ID (otherwise known as a handicap).
Players without a handicap are welcome to play, but are ineligible for qualification.
